|
The Fremont Marshalls defeated the Montreal Royals, 4-2, in Stars Conference action at Hedgehogs Park. Fremont pitcher Mike Stack had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Stack, now 2-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The loss makes Montreal 13-7.
The Marshalls took the lead, 4-0, in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Montreal hurler Rodolfo Soto with one out, Josh Napier hit a 2-run single.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Napier said after the game.
