Tailgators Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Dylan Diggs, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2017 draft, pitched well, but the Glendale Muskies still fell short, losing, 2-1, to the Chesapeake Tailgators at Field of the Muskies. Reliever Tom Thompson picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Dylan Diggs took the loss. Eric Sawyer collected save number 3.
Early in the game, third baseman Curt Stein had a 2-run triple for Chesapeake. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Tailgators on top, 2-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Chesapeake manager Dave York said.
Glendale, with the loss, is 10-6.
