Roberts Blasts Royals, Crawdads Take Game 5, 15-7
The Hickory Crawdads have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Montreal Royals, winning, 15-7, at Turtles Ballpark. Crawdads third baseman Nate Roberts hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. The win cuts the deficit facing the Crawdads to 3-2 in the best-of-7 World Series.

In the top of the fourth, Hickory second baseman Danny Lebron had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Lebron stroked a bases-clearing double to right-center. It made the score 6-1, Hickory. For the game, he went 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Lebron said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
