Almost There: Montreal On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 8-2 Win
The Montreal Royals got a strong performance from pitcher Justin Baker, who stymied the visiting Hickory Crawdads en route to a win, 8-2, in Game 4 of the World Series. The Crawdads could never get a bead on the left-handed Baker, who threw 8.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The Royals now hold a 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

The Royals benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fifth. With Takenori Murayama at bat and Montreal leading 3-2, the Hickory miscue allowed Montreal to plate 1 and take the lead, 4-2.

Crawdads manager Ray Sanchez did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the World Series."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Turtles Ballpark in Montreal.
