At Panthers Park, the Santa Barbara Super Troopers and Wichita Panthers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Wichita Panthers topped the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 7-3, in Sub League 2 action at Panthers Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Wichita pitcher Chris Soto. With the win, the Panthers have a record of 70-63.
Had Mike Coker not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Coker hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Panthers.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Soto, "and then get after it again."
