Little Rock Takes 1-0 Series Lead with Walk-off Win
The Little Rock Golden Gophers powered past the visiting Medford Desperados, 6-5, in the opener of the League Championship Series at Little Rock Grounds. Little Rock left fielder Joe Bacon went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times, to lead the charge. The Golden Gophers now lead the series 1-0.

Little Rock got a game-changing hit from Matt Dean. The third baseman blasted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Little Rock manager Jose Moreno.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Little Rock Grounds in Little Rock.
