The home crowd had a good time watching the Montreal Royals and Chesapeake Tailgators get after it.

The Chesapeake Tailgators picked up a win at Tailgators Ballpark, dropping the Montreal Royals, 5-2. Eric Tate was the difference-maker. Tate picked up the win for Chesapeake, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2.

Kevin Cimini had a big hit for Chesapeake in the bottom of the first inning. With Chesapeake leading 1-0, Cimini hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Tailgators up, 4-0.

"Eric set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Chesapeake manager Dave York.

The win leaves Chesapeake with a record of 8-7.
