Sikeston Collects 8-2 Win
The Sikeston Shamrocks and starting pitcher Mickey Green stifled the Newport News offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Wranglers Stadium. Matt Drayton earned the save, his 6th, for the Shamrocks. The Shamrocks have a one-game lead in the Sub League 2 Central Division.

Sikeston used the timely hitting of Toby Schmitt to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shamrocks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Schmitt told the Sikeston Today: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
