Both offenses were relatively subdued at Mt. Vernon Grounds. Fortunately for the Mt. Vernon Cyclones, though, Tim Schnupp was able to deliver in the clutch. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2, to lead his team past the Montgomery Missions, 3-2. Mike Garst finished to wrap up his 7th save. The win puts the Cyclones at 53-46, while the Missions drop to 51-48.

In the bottom of the sixth, Matthew Bridges delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Mt. Vernon shortstop hit a 2-run double, putting the Cyclones in front, 3-2.

Mt. Vernon manager Dan McClure called it "a pretty good win."
