The 10-5 Mt. Vernon win over Anaheim was due in large part to Matthew Bridges. The Cyclones shortstop went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Nick Compean was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. The victory gives Mt. Vernon a record of 49-45.

With Mt. Vernon trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Bridges hit a cutter from Lorenzo Barrios for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 3-2.

"Matthew was ready to go. Big day for him," said Mt. Vernon manager Dan McClure.
