Super Troopers Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Wichita Panthers got a superb performance from pitcher Matt Lavender, but the Santa Barbara Super Troopers still won the game, 4-3. Lavender threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Steve Albrecht closed it out for his 8th save. Today's win puts Santa Barbara at 24-9, while Wichita falls to 18-15.
Eddie Monaghan, who is tied for 3rd in the SL2 in runs scored with 33, helped out the Santa Barbara cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.
Santa Barbara manager Jimmy Jacobs called it "a pretty good win."
