Joe Bronson helped his team muscle past the Montgomery Missions, 5-4. In the game, the Newport News left fielder went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jonathan Aubry closed out the game, earning his 10th save.

Bronson had a timely hit for Newport News in the bottom of the eighth. With Newport News trailing 4-2, he turned a first pitch sinker into a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Newport News.

Newport News manager Adam Tate said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
