7 Straight Wins for Wranglers

Newport News picked up a win at Wranglers Stadium, bumping off the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 5-3. Pitcher Danny Gonzalez was a major reason the Wranglers emerged victorious. With the victory, the Wranglers upped their record to 25-16.
Newport News went in front, 5-3, on Jarrod Wahlert's 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Wahlert hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Santa Barbara pitcher Miguel Romero visibly perturbed.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Gonzalez.
