The Sikeston Shamrocks and Montgomery Missions provided some drama for the home crowd.

Starting pitcher Roberto Lopez pitched well enough to help the Montgomery Missions beat the Sikeston Shamrocks, 4-3. Jeff O'Donovan recorded the save for Montgomery, his 7th of the season.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Missions sent 22-year-old second baseman Tom Palmer to the plate with a runner on 2nd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a run-scoring single, to put Montgomery on top, 4-0.

"Roberto did a nice job," said Missions manager Hoa Nguyen-Dinh.

Montgomery is now 14-23, Sikeston 15-22.
