John Sasser had a good game, but he could not keep the Carson City Miners from falling, 8-3, to the Savannah Alpines at Miners Ballpark. The Carson City center fielder was 4-4 with 4 singles in the loss. The win puts the Alpines at 14-24, while the Miners drop to 28-10.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Pael Espanol? The Savannah catcher had a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put the Alpines on top, 4-1. For the game, Espanol had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Espanol.
