Montgomery Missions starter Mike Gentry hurled his team past the Wichita Panthers, 5-2. Luis Garcia earned save number 1 this season. The loss puts Wichita at 7-4.

Montgomery designated hitter Javy Perez helped the Missions go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Perez hit a run-scoring single off Wichita pitcher Juan Soriano.

Gentry told a Montgomery Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
