Unicorns Bag 3-2 Win
|
The Newport Unicorns picked up a win at Chanticleers Ballpark, knocking off the Santa Ana Black Aces, 3-2. Starting pitcher Logan Gustin played a key role in the triumph. Newport has now won 4 games in a row.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Unicorns had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when first baseman Pedro Quintero hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Omar Valentin and made the score 3-0, Unicorns. Quintero went 2 for 4 with a double.
"We've got great fans," said Quintero. "I hope they got what they came for."
