Cavalry Topple Black Aces with Late Rally
Santa Ana got a valiant performance from pitcher Roberto Alcaide, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pikeville Cavalry. Pikeville won the game, 4-2. Alcaide threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The win was credited to Sam Betourne in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Chris Williams took the loss. Pikeville is now 44-63, Santa Ana 74-33.

Alex Alvarez cracked a home run off Chris Williams in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run blast put the Cavalry on top, 4-2. In all, Alvarez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Alvarez after the game.
