Led by Carlos Crespo, the Waco Warlocks downed the Providence Hex, 10-7. Crespo went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Warlocks. Christiano Gaona picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-9 on the season. He struck out 2 and walked 5 in 5 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Brian Rosen closed the door for Waco, picking up his 18th save of the year.

The Warlocks got an important contribution from right fielder Steve Nebeker, who in the bottom of the second hit a first pitch cutter to center for a 2-run double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Warlocks ahead, 4-1.

"We maximized our offense today," said Waco skipper Mike Schwartz. "That makes everyone's life easier."

The third-place Warlocks bumped their record to 50-61.
