Black Aces Beat Little Rock, 2-1
|
The Little Rock Golden Gophers wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Andy Yule, falling, 2-1, to the Santa Ana Black Aces at Little Rock Grounds. Ryan Martin sewed up the save, his 9th. The Black Aces, at 40-21, sit in second place in the Sub League 1 Central Division.
Santa Ana used a clutch hit from Kevin Pizzuti to get the win. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Black Aces ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was terrific getting this win," Pizzuti said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
