In a low-scoring game between the Providence Hex and the Greensboro Naturals, pitcher John Savage was the difference-maker. The Providence right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-1 Hex win. The Hex saw their record improve to 27-19.

The Hex got a big at-bat from second baseman Roberto Vazquez. For the game, Vazquez went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Providence a 3-1 lead.
