Providence and Waco duked it out and the Hex came out victorious.
Providence turned a fine outing from starter Lupe Correa into a victory over the Waco Warlocks at Warlocks Grounds. The final score was 5-2. The loss makes Waco 20-25.
Ross Howard drew 1 walk for Providence. With two out and the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, Howard, who is tied for 9th in the SL1 in runs scored with 35, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Waco hurler Mario Acosta, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Hex a 3-2 lead.
Providence manager Dave Hale commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
