Unicorns Fall to Santa Ana, 8-1
|
Black Aces center fielder Kyle Twigg put his stamp on his team's 8-1 win over the Newport Unicorns. Twigg was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for Santa Ana in the contest. Xiao-yong Ta earned the win for Santa Ana. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 3-1. The slumping Unicorns have lost 8 straight.
Twigg made an early impact for Santa Ana when he stroked his 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Black Aces on top, 4-0.
