Warlocks Win, 5-1, Versus Black Aces
|
The home team gave the crowd at Warlocks Grounds something to cheer about.
Cody Ahern had a strong outing for the Waco Warlocks against the Santa Ana Black Aces at Warlocks Grounds. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-1 win. Ahern, now 1-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Bobby Williams earned the save, his 3rd.
Shane Andes hit a run-scoring double off Randy Wall in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Warlocks in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Andes had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Elias Quesada. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
With the win, the Warlocks have a record of 20-17.
