Despite a fine performance by first baseman Justin MacKoul, the Newport Unicorns lost to the Tacoma Thunder Wolves, 9-7, in 10 innings. MacKoul went 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Thunder Wolves are now 13-21.

Tacoma got a knockout punch from Joey Barnett. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"The crowd was juiced," said Barnett.
