Desperados Prevail, 9-7, Over Julian

Ahmed Joiner was a vital contributor to the 9-7 Medford victory over Julian. The Desperados designated hitter was 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Medford reliever Angel Alvarez got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Mike Dominguez was tagged with the loss. Jesus Ochoa locked down his 2nd save.
The Jammers had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Desperados going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman Chris Reese came to the plate. Reese hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 fastball from Julian hurler Mike Dominguez. It was Reese's 2nd double of the year.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Joiner said. "We did a good job of that today."
Medford is now 25-8, 3½ games up in the Sub League 1 East Division.
