DiBiaso Excels, But Desperados Win
The Medford Desperados withstood an impressive performance by Providence catcher Pete DiBiaso to defeat the Hex, 7-5, at Ballpark of Medford. DiBiaso slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Ben Gallegos, the winner, is now 2-1. He struck out 2 and walked 3 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Luis Perez collected his 3rd save.

The Desperados got a big at-bat from left fielder Justin Cottingham. For the game, Cottingham went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Medford a 2-0 lead.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Medford manager Noah Alexander.

Medford is 18-10 and Providence, with the loss, 15-13.
