Super Troopers Win, Move to Within 1 Game of League Championship Series
The Santa Barbara Super Troopers moved to within one game of the League Championship Series, downing the Mt. Vernon Cyclones on the road at Mt. Vernon Grounds by a score of 4-1. Super Troopers right-hander Roy Garcia had a strong outing. He threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Super Troopers a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.

Santa Barbara used a well-timed hit by Reed Gomez to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Super Troopers ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

Santa Barbara manager Jimmy Jacobs called it "a pretty good win."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mt. Vernon Grounds in Mt. Vernon.
