Pines Clip Fleet, 2-1, in DS Contest

The Maine Pines went into extra innings against the San Diego Fleet but ultimately moved to within one game of the Championship Series. The Pines downed the Fleet at San Diego Stadium by a score of 2-1. Maine right-hander Jeff Weingart had a solid outing. He came in in relief and pitched to 23 batters. The win gives the Pines a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.
Tobias Rivera had a key at-bat in the top of the 13th. With the bases empty, he hit a double. It helped send Maine to the win.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Maine manager Chris Ware.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at San Diego Stadium in San Diego.
