Divisional Series Game 1 Victory for Flamino and Maine
The Maine Pines started the Divisional Series in style, downing the visiting San Diego Fleet at Hannaford Dome by a score of 4-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Pines left-hander Ryan Flamino threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball.

Steve McKinstry, who finished 3rd in the AC in slugging percentage with .481 in 2021, helped out the Maine cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said McKinstry, "one at-bat at a time."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hannaford Dome in Portland.
