Ziersch Blasts Royals, Shiners Take Game 2, 7-5
The Charleston Shiners defeated the Cincinnati Royals, 7-5, in Game 2 of the Divisional Series. Making an impact was left fielder Nelson Ziersch, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The win moves Charleston into a 1-1 tie with Cincinnati in the series.

Charleston took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Mark Root hit a run-scoring single to make it 5-4, Shiners.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ziersch. "And not try to do too much."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 7th , 2023 at The Castle in Cincinnati.
