Marsh, Tigers Wallop Mountaineers in Game 6 of WS
|
The London Tigers and the Winchester Mountaineers will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Tigers beat the Mountaineers, 6-1, at Mountaineers Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. London designated hitter Jim Marsh slugged 3 home runs.
London used the hitting of Casey Henderson to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tigers on top, 3-1. For the game, Henderson had 1 home run and 1 single in 2 at-bats.
"Everything is so stressful now," Henderson said. "I was just trying not to trip on my way up to the plate."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mountaineers Park in Winchester.
