Unicorns Slap 5-1 Loss on Providence
The Newport Unicorns topped the Providence Hex, 5-1, in Sub League 1 action at Ballpark of Providence. The game was highlighted by the performance of Newport pitcher Danny Fleitas. Fleitas picked up the win for Newport, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Newport goes to 7-13.

Newport used the clutch hitting of Shaun Warwick to snag the win. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Unicorns ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

Warwick told the Newport Observer: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
