Desperados Advance to League Championship Series
Santa Rosa center fielder Victor Ontiveros couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Division Series.

"It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Ontiveros moments after his club eliminated the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks to advance to the League Championship Series.

Santa Rosa won the final game by a score of 8-0 at Jet Hawks Ballpark and took the series 4-2.

"We won the series and that's the main thing," Ontiveros said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted."

For the series, Ontiveros hit .500 with a .524 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.

"He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Grand Rapids manager Sadayuki Nishikawa.

The Santa Rosa Desperados will play against the Glace Bay Miners in the next round. Glace Bay won their series against the Huntsville Rockets 4 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
