Rankins Blasts Lasers, Stampede Take Game 1, 7-6
The Lubbock Stampede took the first game of the Division Series in dramatic fashion, topping the Nashville Lasers, 7-6, in an extra-inning walk-off win. Stampede right fielder Danny Rankins was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Lubbock shortstop Adam Peterson, facing Nelson Martinez, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Stampede the 7-6 win.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Peterson said in his postgame press conference.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Reagor Dykes Stadium in Lubbock.
