Wolverines Advance to Round 2
The Woodstock High School Wolverines didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Allatoona High School Buccaneers in the Round 1 tonight.

Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 13-6 win moving the club on to the Round 2, clinching a 4-2 series win in front of the Buccaneer Baseball Field crowd.

"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a Round 3, so it's an important step," said Juan Lopez as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."

Lopez was named series MVP, as he hit .615 with a .667 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 9 runs.

On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Buccaneers sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Woodstock High School celebrate.

The Woodstock High School Wolverines will play against the Marcus High School Marauders in the next round. Marcus High School won their series against the Berkeley Prep High School Buccaneers 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
