3-HR Dream Game for Dawson Wednesday, April 24th , 2024 As soon as the first ball went over the fence, everyone at Earthquakes Stadium knew it -- Justin Dawson was in a groove. Fans showered the uber-popular Dawson with applause each time he came to the plate, and he rewarded them right back, finishing with a trio of home runs to help the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes top the visiting Corpus Christi Texans, 14-9. "It was one of the better days in my baseball career," Dawson said later. "I was on cloud nine out there and I think everyone was enjoying it." Along with his three home runs, the 20-year-old had 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "They always love it when Justin goes to the plate," Ft. Wayne manager Du-sung Moon said of the club's fan base. "But today was something else entirely." Justin Dawson hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. In 15 games this season, Dawson is batting .339 with 19 hits and 8 home runs. He has scored 20 runs and driven in 15. |
