Great Stroke: Davis Gets 5 Hits Thursday, April 18th , 2024 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Matt Davis -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Nationals Park and paced the 14-4 Imperials win over the Jacksonville Nationals. After his dynamite batting performance, the Chuluota third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Matt Davis flied out in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Victor Joya in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
