Fenton Smacks 5 Hits for Cubs Wednesday, April 17th , 2024 It was a sensational day at the plate for Chris Fenton as he led the charge to a nifty 8-6 win over the Torpedoes. The Franklin first baseman was pure misery for the Long Island pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Fenton put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Moises Gonzalez, manager for the Torpedoes, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Chris Fenton singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit an RBI double in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off Chad Elder in the 11th.
