Clarke Swats 3 Homers Friday, May 8th , 2026 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Abingdon Archers. Tiverton shortstop Nick Clarke tripled up on the home runs to propel the Colonels to a win, 16-4, at Field of the Colonels. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Abingdon manager Adam Czeck said. "Clarke hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Clarke collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Nick Clarke hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th and walked in the 6th. For the year, Clarke is hitting .414 with 21 home runs. His stats include 57 RBI and 34 runs scored. |
