He easily handled Wolverines pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Thrashers triumph, 20-2, at Wolverines Ballpark. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Ortiz's quip, Wolverines skipper Matt Augustus said he "would take him up on that next time." Omar Ortiz singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
