Bell Rips Corpus Christi for 6 Hits
Saturday, April 13th , 2024
Picture Rocks Raptors left fielder Tyler Bell had a day to remember at Ballpark of Picture Rocks, ripping apart the Corpus Christi Texans and sparking the 18-17 Raptors win.
Bell wrote his name in the record books with a 6-hit barrage, finishing his special day 6-for-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Bell told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Tyler Bell singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
At the moment, Bell is batting .480 with 4 home runs and 8 RBIs. He has played in 5 games and scored 8 times.
