The future looks extremely bright for David Raney. At the age of 19, many players are still trying to find their way in ABA Rookie League.

Raney has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Northern Conference Most Valuable Player Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .481 this year, that's for sure," the third baseman said.

The Moncton Mounties star also put up a .565 on-base percentage this year, with 200 hits, 68 doubles, 5 triples, 51 home runs, 165 RBIs and 149 runs scored.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Luis Ortega of the Borrego Springs Rams finished second in voting, while Danny Shafer of the Moncton Mounties finished third.
