Ytuarte Torches Mounties for 5 Hits Wednesday, September 4th , 2024 All game long, Long Island's Santiago Ytuarte was rattling the walls at Mapleton Yards and banging out base hits against the Moncton Mounties. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Torpedoes had a win, 14-9. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 19-year-old second baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Santiago Ytuarte flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Alfredo Ayala in the 6th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
