Lincoln Halts Miklavcic's Hitting Steak Sunday, September 7th , 2025 For 21 straight games, Rich Miklavcic tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy. Well, the 19-year-old Moncton Mounties left fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Lincoln Princes. The Princes held him hitless in 3 at-bats at Lincoln Grounds and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 21. There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Mounties took the win by the score of 13-1. "I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now." Looking at his present stats, Miklavcic has compiled a .453 batting average in 49 games with a .522 on-base percentage, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 75 runs. |
