Byrne Crushes 3 Homers Against Crystal Lake Saturday, August 26th , 2023 Hitting three home runs in a game is usually something to celebrate, but there was no celebration to be found at Imperials Ballpark after the hitting barrage from Adam Byrne. The Chuluota Imperials dropped the contest, 8-7, to the Crystal Lake Killers, leaving Byrne with only a historical footnote as consolation. Adam is blessed with a natural home run swing so he gets the ball up in the air real quickly," Chuluota manager Larry Voltaire said after the loss. "It's just a shame we couldn't win the game, too. I'm sure it spoils the day a little for him." Along with putting three in the stands, Byrne went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," he told reporters after the game. "Mostly you'll fail if you really try to hit one, but today I tried on the last one." Adam Byrne hit a two-run home run off Jacob Wigdahl in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jacob Wigdahl in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Willie Garcia in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. To date this season, Byrne is hitting .289 with 27 home runs. |
