Melo Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Wednesday, August 28th , 2024 Alex Melo ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Eláguila Stadia, when he collected 5 hits in 7 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Buffalo Bellflowers dropped the game, 3-2, to the Whitby Bats. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Melo said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Alex Melo singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th and singled in the 15th. This year, Melo has 44 home runs and a .424 batting average. |
