Rodriguez Whacks 3 Out of the Park for Terra Linda
Saturday, August 17th , 2024
It was a day for the record books for Terra Linda Chargers shortstop Raul Rodriguez, who walloped three out of Ballpark of Plantersville against the Colonels. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Colonels from getting the 18-17 victory.
"We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," Terra Linda skipper Jaime Share joked after the loss.
Rodriguez still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 3-for-6 for the day, batting in 6 runs and scoring 4 times.
"I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Rodriguez said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time."
Raul Rodriguez hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 4th, walked in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th and struck out in the 11th.
Currently Rodriguez is batting .309 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs.
