Week's Best Player: Saint Pierre and Miquelon's Russell Monday, August 12th , 2024 It was a fantastic week for Saint Pierre and Miquelon shortstop John Russell and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Northern Conference Player of the Week Award. Last week Russell hammered the ball at a torrid .609 pace, going 14-for-23 with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and 11 runs scored. Russell has collected 36 hits for the Pirates this year, 12 of them home runs.
