Arriaga Bombs 3 HR Against Borrego Springs Tuesday, May 14th , 2024 It was a good day for the Franklin Cubs and an exceptional one for David Arriaga. The 18-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Cubs beat the Borrego Springs Rams, 13-5, at Club Circle Park. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Arriaga said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 4 hits in 5 at-bats. David Arriaga hit a three-run home run off Amir Carter in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Arthur Steedman in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Mario Canales in the 9th. Arriaga is hitting .310 this year with 4 home runs and 13 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .375, 2 walks and scored 7 times. |
